Rebuilding a Seasonal Programme Around the Store Date
An anonymised multi-store home improvement retailer offering garden storage as a planned seasonal category.
The challenge
The retailer’s previous programme had been managed primarily around the factory completion date. Product approvals, packaging confirmation and shipment booking were handled in sequence, leaving little contingency before the promotional window. Late changes to carton labels and pallet configuration created additional pressure at the distribution-centre stage.
DiBiBi solution
We rebuilt the programme backwards from the required DC receipt date. Product sampling and vendor documentation were run in parallel. Packaging specifications were reviewed against the retailer’s pallet, barcode and label-position requirements before production. Each SKU received an approval record covering the product, carton, manual and inspection criteria, while production and loading milestones were tracked through one programme schedule.
The result
The retailer gained a clearer critical path, earlier visibility of approval risks and a repeatable specification for future orders.
